Premiered at Julia Stoschek Foundation Berlin BREACHER explores masculinity. Its tragic, desperate need to assert dominance, its constant reinforcement and the complex dynamics inherent to power, control, and identity. These themes are confronted through a shifting interplay of enclosed black-box environments, open landscapes, and detached frames of observation. Within this, the human body becomes a site of performative negotiation. Caught between containment and exposure, between gesture and restraint.
Identity in BREACHER manifests not as fixed or stable, but as a fragile, fluctuating construct shaped by internal tensions and external expectations. This instability is exemplified by the costumes and the bodily performances inside them; every movement, pose, and material surface, whether strained, held, or collapsing, serves to expose the fluidity and transience of the categories we inhabit and the roles we enact. With an unsettling sound BREACHER constructs an atmosphere charged with tension, absurdity, and existential unease.
